Bought this on a whim as it was massively discounted! Started playing at 1am, thinking I'll just check out what this game is about quick before bed... It's 7am and oh my lord! That was INTENSE!

I can't believe I survived it all, the drama of this game is surreal! Was totally locked it by the story and the mission! Would buy again, even if it wasn't discounted, would be worth every penny! Will definitely be sinking more hours in. Now... time for bed... Phew.

This game gave me all the BIG feels. That is powerful, as in my later years with a wife and child and all the bills (not to mention the BS that is the real world) I just do not get emotionally attached to games anymore.

I played "normal" years back but never finished it. I just decided to give it another go and figured I'll try "hard" as i have a strong understanding of the games mechanics. OH Boy its HARD. I tried so hard to save as many as possible and that made the ending so powerful, much beauty, much feels.

You work so hard for your people and in the end you watch the chaos, the death, it hit me. Younger me would have thought it's impossible but we made it, just.

THE CITY MUST SURVIVE

At first, I built a city to save humanity.

The cold took everything, warmth, food, mercy.

Day 10: People are starving. The sick are piling up. The generator sputters.

People begged for help, and I gave them laws.
I told myself I wouldn’t sign the child labor law.
Then the coal ran out.
Now Timmy works the mines.

They begged for rest, and I gave them the whip.
The last child died in the coal mine, but the generator stayed on. A fair trade.
They called me a monster.

One day, they stopped begging.
One day, they just obeyed.

Day 15: The bodies keep the food rations going a little longer.
Day 20: I am no longer building a city. I am managing a slow, freezing graveyard.

Frostpunk doesn’t test your strategy.
It tests how much of your soul you’re willing to burn to keep the fire alive.

By the end, my people weren’t citizens. They were numbers. Resources. A means to an end.
It’s about deciding how many lives you’re willing to sacrifice to keep it standing.

The city stands, but I don’t know if I do.

10/10, the true frost isn’t outside, it’s inside me now.
