Uninspiring slop game
1. Heavily RNG-Dependent Gameplay
Training your horse girls (Uma Musume) involves a lot of random events. Outcomes can vary wildly even with optimal decision-making, making the experience frustrating for players seeking consistency or strategy.

2. Repetitive Gameplay Loop
Despite the flashy aesthetics, the core loop (training, racing, retiring, repeat) can get monotonous. Little variety in gameplay means it often feels like grinding the same mode over and over.

3. Harsh Progression Curve
Advancing to higher levels of play (especially PvP or URA Finals) becomes increasingly difficult without perfect runs, top-tier characters, and optimized strategies — which are hard to achieve without time or money.

4. Pay-to-Win Elements
While free-to-play is possible, competitive success heavily favors those who spend money, especially on support cards. Gacha rates are low, and powerful cards are essential for meta builds.

5. Slow and Tedious UI
Menus and animations — while polished — are slow and sometimes unskippable. This adds unnecessary time to already long training sessions.

6. Limited Player Agency
Because so much depends on RNG and strict stat thresholds, players often feel they’re not in full control. Even with a good plan, a bad training RNG can ruin a run.

7. Stale PvP (Team Stadium)
The main PvP mode, Team Stadium, lacks real-time interaction and becomes stale due to limited strategy and meta builds dominating the rankings.

8. Overwhelming for Newcomers
New players are faced with tons of characters, support cards, modes, and mechanics, making onboarding difficult. The tutorial barely scratches the surface of what's needed for success.

9. Stingy Rewards System
The game is notoriously tight with premium currency (Jewels). Players often need to save for months to do a proper gacha pull, which still might not yield good results.

10. Story and Setting Aren’t for Everyone
The premise — horse girls based on real racehorses who sing after races — is off-putting or confusing to some. It can feel overly niche or bizarre, especially for those unfamiliar with Japanese idol culture.

okay, but consider this. Horse Girl.

this horse game sucks btw
Nothing I say will convince you but...

1. Consistency yes, strategy no. These are obstacles to strategize around. If strategy meant "execute formula, win", then Hearts of Iron would be no fun.

2. If you don't get attached to your trainees and their efforts, sure. I can see where you're coming from here, not everyone is the attached type.

3. I can't speak for high-level PvP, but URA wins are very achievable without perfect runs. I had a Daiwa Scarlet run where she couldn't reach the top five in her first six races due to stumbles and such, and she wound up winning it all.

4. Can't deny that. But 3% is a low rate. There are popular games out there with a 1% SSR rate. Granted, these games tend to have a progressive pity mechanic, and here the pity mechanic is just, "Alright, you couldn't get it in 200 pulls, please just TAKE the thing you're after."

5. I don't know of anything that's unskippable. And there's a fast forward for things that don't have a skip button. Training cutscenes fly by in less than one full second with that on.

6. Only if your plan is too rigid. Adaptability is key. We're training racers, not doing algebra.

7. Meta domination is present in every competitive game. The strategy is in your skill choice, running style selection, and training distribution. You execute the strategy before the race begins.

8. There's not all that many, really... But I guess everyone's different. And what the tutorial doesn't cover, the help section and glossary do.

9. Well, that's fair enough I suppose.

10. Also fair, there's a matter of taste involved in everything, especially games this niche.

Sucks to suck and not understand the game mechanics.

0/10 no clowns for you.
I wouldn't put it that way, but I will say that to call it "slop" is over the top. Slop is a game that was lazily thrust out to make a quick buck. This game is clearly very thoughtfully developed, as evidenced by the his 8th point.
Bait used to have effort put into, now we get baitslop....
This game is a deck rougelite (or rougelike?) and doesnt seem to be your style of game.
In the gacha space this game is actually innovative and very well made.

Its management game. There is no ''play'' in the gameplay

The gameplay is the management. That's the game. By this logic, again, Hearts of Iron has no gameplay. You just build the units, determine the strategy, and then it's all up to the AI. No, it's not action-based gameplay like you'd have in a jockey game or something. But it never said it was, either.

By this logic anything not 3rd person or 1st person game has no gameplay.
The whole 4X community would crucify you lol.

Skill issue.
How did you manage to play Elden Ring and Clair Obscur for that long when your first reaction to a learning intensive gameplay is to complain about how hard it is?

Also big part of this game is the visual novel expect, probably more than the actual gameplay. So if you're someone who skips everything, then it's not the games fault that you think it's lacking. And this game has millions of player, so it doesn't really matter what others think. Like i'm sure we find people who don't like the universe for every single game.

As for the pay to win mechanics, who are you even competing against? Most of the time you're sitting in singleplayer modes anyway.

Europa the last horse race is a great game. Don't you think?

But you manually play Hearts of Iron aswell? You use abilities/skills pincer tactics, create divisions for speciap purposed which you yourself have entire control over. While in this game u just watch some girls run?
