HoMM3 is obviously the most popular entry in the series, and the others are a bit more niche in comparison. According to stats, HoMM3 and HoMM5 sold approx. around 1m copies each. And it is only here on Steam. Given that both of these games sold so well why not release the rest of the series for fans? It won't sell as well as H3 and H5, but it sure could be a moderate success. Good enough for return on investment at the very least....
