A bit of good news today - we’ve just released Hotfix 1.0.1 to tackle some of the biggest issues reported after launch.

Here's what it addresses:

✅ Save loss issue is (hopefully) fixed
With this update, your saves should now safely sync with Steam Cloud, even if the game closes unexpectedly.

And remember - if this has happened to you, we are here for you! Come by our Discord and we’ll recover your save: Steam Community[discord.gg] .

✅ No more getting stuck in buildings

You can no longer get trapped inside a structure if you're standing in its preview (ghost) form while it's being built.

✅ Determination VIII & IX achievements
These should now track progress correctly for everyone.

✅ Anti-aliasing option now works
Disabling anti-aliasing in the settings now correctly takes effect.

✅ Manual Aim label removed
We’ve removed the “not recommended” tag next to the Manual Aim setting - it’s working well enough now that we’re confident in letting you decide for yourself. (It’s cosmetic only, nothing about the system changed.)

✅ Credits added
We’ve updated the in-game credits and want to sincerely apologize to our team members whose names were missing before 😅 Thank you for your work - and your patience.

• We’re actively working on a fix for the crash issues caused by the latest NVIDIA driver update. Thank you for your patience - we know how frustrating this is. In the meantime, you can find a temporary workaround here:

• We’re also gathering feedback on what you’d like us to focus on next. Balance changes? New content? More QoL improvements? We want to hear what’s important to you!

Hi Survivors,

Wow, what a week it’s been.

We’re aware of the issues you’ve been reporting - and we wanted to give you a little update on what we’re doing about them, and assure you that a fix is coming soon...

But before that, there’s something else we need to say:

We honestly have no words for the sheer amount of support, feedback, and love we’ve received over the past few days. We’re just a small indie team from Toruń, (Poland), and while it might sound cheesy, we genuinely didn’t expect this kind of response.

Let’s start with a few highlights:

Our all-time concurrent player peak jumped from 341 (during Early Access launch) to 1357. That’s a 300%+ increase!

For comparison, our previous game, Achilles: Legends Untold, had a peak of 470. We’re not saying we could storm Troy together now… but we might have the numbers.

We’ve also received a lot of love from streamers - just look at the difference compared to our previous updates!

And our reviews? Absolutely lovely:

Even Steam reviews stayed very positive until dipping slightly over the weekend. (We absolutely understand why - more on that below.)

Last but not least: we showed the game at ChinaJoy! Yes, we brought Achilles to Shanghai. That’s... quite far from Poland.

That’s not to mention all the social media comments, Steam discussions, Discord messages, and reviews all over the internet ❤️

Compared to other games, it might seem small - but to us, every record we break means the world. We believe in getting better with each day (and each update).

At the same time, we want to assure you: we’re listening, and we’re working on the hotfix. Every issue you report is looked into, and we’re doing our best to fix them all as soon as possible.

We’re a small team, so some things take a little longer - but we’re on it.

Here’s a quick rundown of the bugs you’ve reported and what we’re doing to fix them:

⚙️ Lost progression (Steam Cloud conflict)

• This is our top priority. The issue seems to happen when Steam Cloud syncs incorrectly after a crash or forced shutdown.

If this happened to you, please join our Discord[discord.gg] and ping Remek (Remigiusz Starzak) - he will help you retrieve your progress ASAP!

We’ll help every single person who reports lost progress. The fastest way to do so is to share your achievements with us.

⚙️ Achievements Determination VIII and IX not unlocking

These may not register progress made before version 1.0. They will be addressed in the next hotfix.

⚙️ Nvidia driver 580.88 crashesSome players reported crashes after updating their drivers to version 580.88. This is affecting multiple games, not just Achilles.

⚙️ Getting stuck in structure preview

If you’re standing in the ghost (preview) version of a structure while it’s being built, you may get stuck. For now, avoid standing in the blueprint zone while confirming construction.

Other:

• Myrmidons have gone rogue. They may attack random buildings instead of enemies.

• We are aware that the anti-aliasing option cannot be disabled in the options.

• There is a small chance that the game may become unresponsive on the improvement/transformation/pause menu selection screen.

We’re working on a hotfix to address the most urgent bugs, including lost saves, progression issues, and Nvidia crashes.

We're also working on balance changes, especially to the endless mode - they will be coming after our Discord competition ends (next week) to make it fair to all participants.
