Do i need to know japanese to play this game ? or can i rely on english text ? any sectiosn which require the japanese audio language only ?

I've hit every option in every location I can access at least twice. Marina tells me I can't take the bundle of paper. I've taken the three other objects in the room, but there's no option to do anything with them. What am I missing?
