Kanon. The miracle that started it all for Key, 25 years ago. The voice acting and soundtrack really shines and gives incredible atmosphere, something early Key titles excel at. Story is great, simple to follow and comes with many quotable phrases and sentences for every route. There is no true route, so you can pick any one you fancy to go for in any order, though Mai's route needs to be completed once to access Sayuri's route. The CGs thankfully are kept in their original 4:3 ratio, just zoomed in the fill in modern 16:9 screens with the option of zooming out to see the full image.

For its larger impact on emotional storytelling in future VNs and anime, Kanon is worth the read even at full price for VN enjoyers.
