How do I get to star systems without a hyperlane attached?
Stellaris 3.14 on Windows 11.

Do I have to research some new technology?
Is that generally for later in the game?

Thanks.

Star systems without a hyperlane can always be accessed by something else (Assuming its not something from mod), like a wormhole or a special gate (like the L-gate cluster).

And yes you need a technology for utilizing wormholes. While unlocking the L-gates is a longer research project.

Late game you get jump drives and can jump there from any system in range.

I think Ultima Vigilis is (before finishing the site) jump drive only.

If it's the system with the habinte unified worlds you need to declare war on them first and they'll open hyperlanes to the surrounding systems.

Out of interest, I don't think I've ever seen a star system without a hyper lane attached. Does this form part of one of the DLC's, or some mods?

I'm pretty sure Ultima Vigilis is vanilla

L Cluster is Distant Stars

Corrupted Avatar is Distant Stars

Habinte Unified Worlds is First contact

The Chosen is First Contact

I think that's all of them. I may be missing some.
