Post-Launch Patch #3: Back-End Update

Did you try turning it on and off?

After falling off the face of the earth, we've returned from the depths with the BACK-END update. This one comes with new challenges and ways to play for those who have finished at least one run.

Major

Added alternate routes for Act I and II. These come with new challenges and unlock after you complete at least one run.
Alternate routes are more difficult but offer a higher chance of increased pack rarity and powerful card modifier rewards.
Added the following new modifiers to alternate routes:
- STRONG: Pulse damage equal to the card's wit cost + 3 when played
- SLIPPERY: Dash when played
- SHIELDED: Gain armor equal to the card's wit cost when played
Added the Handyman and Oil Painter enemies to alternate floors. They can also appear on normal floors after going deeper in \[REDACTED]

Quality of life

Added new floor layouts to each act
Recolored The Hanged Man stake when used by the player for improved visibility
Currency becomes more transparent after dropping to decrease screen clutter
Decreased sound effect volume of nuke type attacks
Added more effects when \[REDACTED] at the \[REDACTED] for more game juice
Fixed a crash when using The Tower and Ignite cards
Fixed other minor bugs

Our next updates will focus on adding even more branching paths to give you more ways to play LYMBUS runs.

Steam deck support/does it work?

Sorry to be that guy but asking this as I saw it just came out but I'm seeing 0 information or reviews on steam deck stuff. If no one's sure, I may just try it myself as the game looks real cool but wanted to ask around on thoughts

The Perfectly Balanced Update

Hey there, rage stackers!
We're back with another update! This particular one focuses on introducing meta-progression through permanent upgrades for completing runs. We've also rebalanced several cards and introduced larger rewards to smoothen the in-game economy.

Here are the specific changes:

Major

Successfully clearing a run with a suit permanently upgrades that suit with an additional starting card and unlocks a new booster pack that can appear in your other runs

Balance

Rebalanced 20+ cards based on playtest feedback and good vibes. Most of these changes involve minor edits to cost and damage though some cards have been reworked to make them play better.
Bosses now drop a large cache of their floor's currency on defeat to support shopping sprees

Bugs

Fixed occasional crash when starting a new run right after winning a run

So, what's next?

While we've focused on fixes to quality of life/gameplay in the last few updates, we plan to work on more content for our next major update, slated for sometime in Q2 2025.

The focus of the update will be adding more variety to runs by introducing alternate biomes for floors 1 and 2, including brand new stage layouts, enemies, and bosses. In the meantime, we will continue pushing smaller updates for minor gameplay tweaks and bugfixes.

Post-Launch Patch #2: GO FISH

What's up, dashing slashers?

Our second post-launch patch includes a new NPC that adds variety to the start of each run, quality of life improvements for those using keyboard shortcuts, and balance fixes such as more enemy attack telegraphs and temporarily invulnerability after entering a room.

Here are the specific changes:

Major

Added a shady new character, SCAVENGER JOE, who offers you (ethically sourced) cards from your previous run at the beginning of a new run. Unlock him by defeating Sinister Dexter for the first time

Quality of life

If no card is selected, the keyboard shortcuts to cycle left or right will now select the leftmost or rightmost card instead of needing to mouse over to select a new card

Balance

Added minor visual cues for Lobefish and Locus attacks to make them easier to read
Added 2 seconds of invulnerability after entering a new room to prevent instant destruction

Audio

Adjusted volume of Sinister Dexter's voice

Controller support

I just played this games demo. I think this game is cool, but I think I'd like it better if it had Controller support. I feel like the controls can very much work on a controller. you can use the triggers to cycle through your hand. So I hope in a later update will add controller support....
