The game automatically saves every 5 min, 10 back-ups max.
You can try load one of them:
Main menu -> [Load game] -> Select your game save -> [Back-ups] -> Select a back-up -> [Load]

You can play the previous game version:
Steam library -> Ale & Tale Tavern -> RMB click -> Properties -> Betas -> Beta participation
Note that all party members must have the same version.
