Online Friends Only Co-op?
Is there a way to actually be able to invite friends only to my hosted game? I cannot for the life of me, including an hour google search, see how to add friends to my hosted game. Not via the game menu or steam itself. Nothing appears in friends join, regardless how much we refresh it.

Only thing that works is non-friends, but then anyone can now join.

Obviously missing something, but no idea as to what.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you start a new game one of the options is "Friends only". Check that and start the game. Now your friends (and only them) should be able to join your game.
If you are worried of griefing you can stop people from moving furniture with the second option but I think that should not be necessary when playing with friends.

Your friends join your game by clicking the "Join" button in the main menu. If they check the "friends only" box only your hosted game should appear in the list.

Click your 'world' and select 'Friends Only'. Your friends then should be able to click 'join' and find your world.

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried this, but for some reason my hosted game isn't showing up in the list for them to join. We've refreshed the list to no avail.

I've tried both being in the start menu and right in the game, but still not showing up in the list of joinable games...

Unfortunately I've tried that, and I'm still not showing up in their list.

We've played other multiplayer games before, but regardless, I checked to see if they are steam friends and they still are.

Any other thoughts?

Have your friends click on the "join game" option when they right-click on your Steam ID. To the right should be options to "watch game" or such. When they join, then they should see the Join option in the game.

Everything I've read about it so far, yes it is. It's quite addictive, lol.
So just now I was trying to host, but I normally have myself set to invisible. After changing myself to showing online my friends were able to join

Oh, that could be it!? I'm always set to invisible. Will try when I get a chance!

Thank you !! :steamhappy: We got the same bug with a friend, and indeed I had to set myself NOT invisible in the Steam "contacts and chat" settings.
