Sancticide is an action RPG that throws you into a biblical apocalypse, where you take on the role of Ezechiel, a Sin Collector, battling grotesque creatures and sinful humans while navigating a apocalyptic world dripping in religious symbolism. It somehow capture that old-school God of War feel but swaps out Greek mythology for heavy Catholic themes and a darker, more apocalyptic tone.

Pros:
✔️ Cool Enemy Designs: The non-human enemies are easily one of the best parts of the game. There’s a nice variety to them, and they fit the unsettling, religious horror vibe really well.
✔️ Combat Feels Pretty Solid: The animations and overall feel of the different combat styles are well done. Swinging weapons, dodging, and striking all have a nice weight to them.
✔️ The GoW Vibe, But With a Catholic Twist: If you like brutal, old-school action combat, this definitely scratches that itch, even if it doesn’t quite hit the highs of its inspiration.

Cons:
❌ The Story Doesn’t Quite Pull You In: There are some contradictions in the narrative that make it hard to stay invested, and it just doesn’t have the weight or depth it feels like it’s aiming for.
❌ AI Voice Acting Feels Flat: The use of AI-generated voices really stands out, and not in a good way. It makes the dialogue feel emotionless and awkward.
❌ The Kosherness Mechanic Is Underdeveloped: The idea of having a morality-influencing system to change your interactions and that gauges folks souls could have been really interesting, but in practice, it doesn’t feel like it impacts much.

Conclusion:
I really wanted to like Sancticide more than I did. The combat is decent, some the enemy designs are cool, and I love the idea of a game that leans into heavy religious themes in a dark, apocalyptic way. But once I put the controller down, I had no real urge to go back. The story didn’t grip me, the AI voice at points just kinda felt laughable, and the mechanics that were supposed to make it stand out didn’t feel fully realized. It’s not the worst game I’ve played, but it’s also not one I’d really recommend at this point. Maybe with more updates, it’ll evolve into something stronger, but right now, it just didn’t hit for me.
