my first ever game
my father got it for me! it was so incredibly atmospheric! from that moment on, this is what gaming meant for me i guess! such a difficult game too! i never made it past a certain level! i remember the cd even now, decades have passed.....

such a unique game! age of empires... is not like this, it feels like no other game is!

and i loved the sounds the warriors made, it was so funny to me as a kid, always made me laugh

this is what gaming is: .... difficulty and vibes

i'm gonna try to play it as an adult! see if i fare any better! but as far as i remember it..... omg! total and complete destruction, this game gave you!

i remember i had the mfkn cd in a cardboard covering. idk how that happened, maybe dad didn;t buy it, maybe he got it off a magazine?? idk.... i was small as hell

i can crystal clearly hear the KHA-KHA!!! ..... BLEEEAAAAAAHHHHH.... even now

when i first discovered there were boats in the game?..... instant love. i couldn't believe what was happening on the screen. sometimes i was literally sh*ttin myself playing this game as a kid! that's how intense everything was for me at that time! (of course, i would go to the bathroom, but the point remains, game made me f*kn sh*t myself dude)

AHAHAHA, YES!!! I was talking about old-school games with a friend and Populous came up, so I instantly searched the store to find it ACTUALLY existed, but this one (Populous: The Beginning) was region-locked for me!! Thankfully another post in these forums shared how you can add it to your cart via the sub-app and that worked for me, still can't access the store but I at least own the game and had quite a few hours of nostalgia playing it!!

Your sound effects, exact same ones I did just before they were made in the game to see if I still remember them! TUSCATI to bridge around, CHAKAAAA and SHOKAAAA!!! Ahhhhh, man, I feel like a kid again, 30 years later, this is AMAZING! I wish you nothing but happiness and joy in rediscovering this classic, it surprisingly holds up well though I would recommend getting the 1.5 community patch[www.populous3.info] as it fixes quite a few issues on modern systems!

Have fun and go conquer those shamans!

that's awesome!
Ngl i just had a demo of the game. But boi did i play and replay so many times all the level that were in the demo. Now that i play the full game there's many different thing that was not included in the demo version. I think it had only 3 scenario in each realm in the demo.

Playing this game only reinforce further my vision of gaming publisher & devs losing touch of what is gaming after all. Paying hundred of $ for couple of hours of gameplay is a total joke.
In today gaming world this game would have only the 6 planet and the rest would be on a EA limbo. With a massive store front in case it just to hard to change strategy and need a one button win.
Same mate. Dont forget BYRNE.
I played it on ps1 and never knew about the pc version. good times!
