i'm gonna try to play it as an adult! see if i fare any better! but as far as i remember it..... omg! total and complete destruction, this game gave you!
i remember i had the mfkn cd in a cardboard covering. idk how that happened, maybe dad didn;t buy it, maybe he got it off a magazine?? idk.... i was small as hell
i can crystal clearly hear the KHA-KHA!!! ..... BLEEEAAAAAAHHHHH.... even now
when i first discovered there were boats in the game?..... instant love. i couldn't believe what was happening on the screen. sometimes i was literally sh*ttin myself playing this game as a kid! that's how intense everything was for me at that time! (of course, i would go to the bathroom, but the point remains, game made me f*kn sh*t myself dude)
Your sound effects, exact same ones I did just before they were made in the game to see if I still remember them! TUSCATI to bridge around, CHAKAAAA and SHOKAAAA!!! Ahhhhh, man, I feel like a kid again, 30 years later, this is AMAZING! I wish you nothing but happiness and joy in rediscovering this classic, it surprisingly holds up well though I would recommend getting the 1.5 community patch[www.populous3.info] as it fixes quite a few issues on modern systems!
Have fun and go conquer those shamans!
it holds up great! it was a solid solid, super hardcore rts! a true GAME! just that - a game! like they all were back then.
Playing this game only reinforce further my vision of gaming publisher & devs losing touch of what is gaming after all. Paying hundred of $ for couple of hours of gameplay is a total joke.
In today gaming world this game would have only the 6 planet and the rest would be on a EA limbo. With a massive store front in case it just to hard to change strategy and need a one button win.
