Nothing after bringing in the boxes

I got the text from dad, got the boxes inside in the right rooms but nothing else is happening - seems anti-climatix

Can't pick up stuff

I know this sounds silly but I don't understand the mouse directions to pick up stuff.. I 've tried turning the wheel in various ways but it doesn't move the boxes. Pls tell me what I'm doing wrong!

What's the inspiration for this game?

I noticed it had some inspiration on the atmosphere side to House of Leaves, but also couldn't help but notice that the gameplay loop is very similar to an indie game on itch that's called Peter's House, just curious :)

Hints for each ending?

For anyone who's found multiple endings (besides the bad one, which I assume is the "default" one you get by playing blindly), any hints on how to get there? I assume there's something up with the unboxing phase, there are multiple items that belong to/remind the guy of Jessica, I assume you either need to specifically unpack all of them, or avoid unpacking any of them. Placing more items owned by Jessica seems to speed up the decay of the house, which is what clued me in that maybe it's the wrong thing t...
