ISSUE: 'This game requires Steam. Please log into Steam and run the game from there. The game will now exit'

Hi guys,
I understand this has been a problem for some. Don't know if there has been a fix in regards to this?
I've done the whole uninstall and reinstall process. Also did the whole SteamworksNative.dll swapping.
I know this isn't a favourite among many, but as a Deus Ex fan I wouldn't mind giving this a whirl on the big screen (I don't get on with handhelds).
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue, I restarted my computer then it worked fine. You might have an update of some kind that needs a restart that's interfering with the game.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion, unfortunately that didn't help either. From going by the other discssion threads, maybe it's my systems way of saving me 8-10 hours of my life :-/

Saying that i've just booted it with no issues so i've just got to find a spare 10 hours of my life somewhere....maybe behind the refrigerator.

New link for downloading patch that works since the one above ending “5555” is a dead link:

It’s the Visual Studio 2010 (VC++ 10.0) SP1 (no longer supported) x86 version. I installed it on a 64-bit Windows 11 installation and The Fall loaded immediately afterwards.
