Not exactly. You'll be able to assign and equip guards to help you protect your village, but, at least for now, there is no plan on having something like a "companion", if that makes sense =]
Not just getting sick, but also what effects the plague may have, where did it come from, managing the infection rate of your villagers, as well as plague sites during exploration, how the enemy factions deal with or use the plague agaisnt you, and much more =]
I liked Medieval Dynasty but I hope you won't lock everything behind some kind of crafting path like they did. I really disliked how you had to build this building in order to do that quest that unlocks the next one, etc...
Instead of doing tiers like every other crafting games: find a new resources -> unlock ~10 buildings that then let you focus your effort on what you want (husbandry, farming, wood-cutting, etc...)
