The state of humanity was still normal then, it wasn't just Neversoft being based.

True but Neversoft had that spark of passion and fun too

THUG 2 could still be released because any smart consumer would just acknowledge, "Yeah it was a product of the time" Anyone causing a fuss is likely farming for clicks like most people are and people just fall for it. Like this post calling it soulless.

Smart consumers have gone the way of common sense, AKA the way of the dodo bird.

Absolutely agreed with you, and you could see the amount of love and care put into the original games from the bonus videos they used to include, unlocked by beating the game as the several secret skaters you could unlock, such as the one where they held a Kickflip Contest to win prize money:

As well as a game of Musical Chairs where the winner took home their own PS2 console:

Neversoft back then seemed like a really fun workplace that really encouraged hard work in ways that not enough game studios do, which was likely the reason why their games turned out as good as they were. Their passion showed in the products they delivered, which may sound minor, but it's the little things that go a very long way. :spider_skate:
How pathetic these "developers" are nowadays.

Some might say those jokes are funny, other might see them being unfunny or even cringy. But those jokes made those games "alive" you know. It was a part of identity those games had. Now we have soulless product for mass just to bump those big numbers on accounts. Sad times for gaming overall. Developers being scared of making "original" games and publishers (now even making companies as PayPal) making rules to protect their sales. :captainclown:
yup, just a sanitized safe game from a game about "counter culture" now being the culture, nothing good about that
the more on the devs the more clear it is why so much was removed, the core audience isn't the same anymore
