What a tragedy.
This had all the hallmarks of a classic JRPG and then they slapped a mobile game overlay on top of it.
Any type of story they are trying to build is defeated by Gacha character system and stage based battles, with no connection.
I really wanted to like it and every time i found myself getting there some mobile type feature slapped me right back out of it. If i really pushed i could play this, but i want to improve my gamer's self respect by not giving into drivel.
Such a shame.
There's a lot to like, but for me it's not what i need right now

Unfortunately not worth the time.

The images/videos are very appealing, and the draw of a tactics like game play can be enticing.

Yet once you get enough time put in you start noticing a lot of red flags.


----------The GACHA----------

Its fairly bad at this aspect. The general rule of Gacha should be to keep the casual/free to play person engaged and able to feel rewarded by keeping active in daily/weekly and events so that with each month you can have a good chance to get that character you want.
Those that will spend money, and lots of it, will only stick around if the game is active with a player base. So this is why you want to make it friendly to non spenders.
This game follows many other Gacha in its pity system, yet its set to 180 pulls to get there.
After spending 40 hours being very conservative to not spend anything until a highly recommended banner came out, I had acquired enough resources for about 140 pulls.

And like most Gacha games, the first time rewards are very generous to what you will be making once you've established yourself in the routine.

From reading up on players feed back, you may get ball park 20-35 pulls per month if you complete all daily/weeklies. As of the current state of the game, the resources you get from events in a month may make up 10 pulls worth of resources.

Average luck you'll net a top tier rarity [Legendary] in 50 pulls.

So per month your average luck nets 1 Legendary.
Going by the percents of the event banners for new releases, average luck is 100 pulls for the event legendary.

In summary, these odds are bad considering the limit on what they give the players that wont be spending any money.


----------The Gameplay----------

It actually is the strongest suite here.

Might be due to the appeal of a good ol tactics style game, but it does well in this regard. The issue is the falls off after clearing a stage for the first time.

The 2 methods the game offers to offset this replayability is with;
A) Auto battler
B) Sweep [instant clear]

The auto battler might be the worse I've ever experienced. The AI will ignore several abilities your characters have, and even when it opts to use them...you'd almost wish they hadn't depending on the skill. And for some reason the AI pathing is drawn to traps on the ground. They can't help but to walk on top of them.

I had some laughs watching how bad it was, like a B level movie trying to be good in spite of the underwhelming acting/story/CGI etc.

Then there is the sweep option. Which is tied to a currency that is rare to acquire outside of first time rewards.

So you're forced to manually do the same maps every day/week or have to auto battler on stages you are overpowered on to offset the terrible AI.

----------The MircoTransactions----------

Your typical copy/paste format from so many other Asia based Gachas. Largely not worth it as even when you put time into the game and want to support it, you just don't get much for the amount you have to pay.

----------Misc ----------

The game limits your ability to do stages of an energy system.

The up side is once depleted you have a nice 15ish hours before it caps back out. So you can limit your self to 2 log ins a day.

The obvious down side is with games like this, if you want to play more you can't unless you want to be reckless with currencies. Though they do give you items for getting more energy back, and truth be told I felt the pacing of how much I wanted to play didn't conflict with energy.

The real problem showed its self around account level 30, where you start feeling it slow down on your power increase vs the stages in progressing.

So the logical conclusion is to hunker down and do dailies/events until you gradually get enough power to progress further. I found my self unsure where to even spend energy, as outside of the daily 1 time boosts, the repeat maps for power ups would be trivial.

Controls on PC or controller are equally wonky. I'm sure this is a mobile game at heart. Yet no matter which style I chose to play with keyboard/mouse or controller, they both had annoyances tied to them.

----------Conclusion ----------
A poorly executed Gacha game honestly. If the rates or generosity in what the player gets were better tuned, that would make it tolerable.

The game play is good, but only the first clear, and as progress slows down, you have to wait longer and longer for that first clear experience again; which concerns me how end game may feel.

If this had been made as a p2p instead of f2p gatcha, I believe it could have sold far better. The maps need to be bigger and the story more streamlined. The art is great but its brought low by its mobile port style.
