Is it me or is the fat bee a kind of bad enemy? The only tower that seems to do anything is the laser tower, and it's kind of boring to be forced to use this tower whenever it pops up

I love this game. I picked it up on PS3 sometime around 2007 and have been playing co-op with my better half since then. I owned the PSP version, and have continued to play on Playstation Plus as well as here on Steam. Hi, despite completing it multiple times now, with all 12 towers built and present before killing the boss (double and triple checked), it just doesn't unlock. Made sure I have some active gem towers, Trap Tower A and B are up, everything else as well. Are there some additional hidden requirements for this? Please don't tell me my last missing medal turns out to be bugged :(...

PJMU is one of my favorite games to chill out and play with a friend locally so I was really excited to try it out on my steam deck. I was able to sync my XS controller with no problem and confirmed it worked well in other games, but for some reason nothing I tried would get it to work in this game.
