I think it kinda became obvious after what felt like 10 levels in that this game doesn't need a story and should just be about the cars chasing the player[s]. I was hoping it'd be like Maximum Overdrive but the "story" is so vague and hard to follow, not to mention the cutscenes felt like they were 6 seconds long for me to really sink my teeth into.
I mean I wasn't expecting an Ernest Hemingway-thought provoking deep story, obviously, but still. Plus not to mention there's a stop-gap level where I'm required to walk slowly from payphone to payhone without the cars, those levels could be removed entirely to keep the gameflow at a steady pace.
I wasn't bored, in fact, I liked the game a lot, but I left the game feeling, "I was sort of expecting a little more than just 'you vs. the cars' in every single stage." One of those feelings where it's like, "It's good, but I'm feeling unsatisfied."
