The iconic Bubble Ghost is back with a revamped adventure and a fresh artistic style! Bubble Ghost Remake launches on March 27th for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.

With over 40 challenging levels, epic boss fights, and multiple game modes, this remake blends nostalgia and innovation to bring the best Bubble Ghost experience yet. Players can also relive the original classic with the Original Mode, featuring levels from the Game Boy and Atari ST versions, or compete in Speedrun Mode to earn a place in the Hall of Fame.

Is the game really just blowing a bubble around?

Is the game objective really just blowing a bubble around trying to avoid obstacles and bats/spiders, while awkwardly trying to turn with LB/RB? Also what's up with the time trials thing? The screen where the bat first appears seemed impossible as the counter started right at the beginning. I moved the bubble into the TV screen thing and had enough at some point and wanted to get back to it later, but there's apparently also no way to save your progress and you can just start a New game?...

Diagonals are difficult

In order for the ghost to stay facing a diagonal, you have to somehow take your fingers off both the up/down key and the left/right key at the exact same time. This is hard. Maybe some kind of detection lag could be built in after a diagonal, so it remembers the diagonal for a few frames and doesn't immediately jump to assuming you want to point the ghost along an orthogonal axis instead? Otherwise, I dunno, the gameplay appears to be moving the bubble around directly but with extra steps. I'd rather move...

what an odd title to remake

OG Bubble ghost was iconic because kids who owned a gameboy in the 90s had nothing better to do to kill time and play the only game they could afford to own outside of Tetris, where a little ghost blows bubbles towards a goal. it's the equivalent to one of those water ring toss games where you push a button on a handheld "aquarium" and you hope to god you get all them sumbiches on to the pylons. I admit i'm curious how y'all gonna stretch this concept out....
