I upgraded the engine instead, just curious to see what would happen, and it basically bricks the game. You can't continue, do-over, or even exit out with the controller or the escape key. The game won't continue unless you upgrade the turret and having just upgraded the engine, I couldn't afford to. So I had to force quit my way out.
