So good. Like SWAT 4 crossed with Quake or something. Procedurally-generated missions, destructible environments, a hub that gets invaded, meta-progression in various forms (loadout, squad composition, player and teammate levels), endearing visual style, all imbued with just the right amount of humor and retro style. For only 3 American dollars. Inflation is a lie.

Oddly detailed, too. The guards at your hub sleep and use the weapon vendors. You can see your wounded teammates recovering in the medical bay. Your workers might get mad at you if you snatch food out of their hands. Base alarms function, both at your hub and at enemy sites. I followed the hovering cages of captured workers at my hub, and ended up in a room full of cages that I'm pretty sure I wasn't meant to access. That's pretty neat.

Only real problem is that the AI, both friend and enemy, can be real idiots. They look like idiots, though, so it checks out.

If this was $15, I'd say it's an 8/10, 9/10 after some patches. But it ain't $15, so I don't even know why you're still reading.

Very cool and fun game. I recommend it.
