i loved the game aesthetic, the boss is kinda nice but i suggest to add more "checkpoints" you can "re-materialize" to during levels, because obtaining the hidden health upgrade was a hellish experience considering there is only one point where your position is "recorded" outside of the start of that platforming challenge room, my suggestion is to make every safe platform a place where you can return after taking electrical damage or fall into pits instead of just the start of the level, kinda like hollow knight handles non fatal damage like spykes and pits

Yeah I honestly felt infuriated and exhausted by that room. Resetting back to the beginning of the room for every single error felt like a kick in the teeth. Up until the last challenge of the room (which does save your position) I failed at I think every possible step in the process. There were certain challenges in the room that felt like they required very specific timing, and having to redo those every time certainly made me feel better when I felt like I had mastered them, but having this kind of progress loss from every single failure, especially in an area that is clearly meant to be early in the game, feels bad. I like metroidvanias a lot, and when the platforming feels good I can get very into it, but that stretch felt like pulling teeth.

100% agree obtaining the fragment felt more frustrating then rewarding and having to redo segment i've already learned over and over didn't help, the very last darkness ball almost needed frame perfect execution for some reason

Is this demo the start of the game? Because, you guys have no sense of balance or rewarding experience :D I went up the room with the elevator, past the 3 points door, had a hellish time passing the obstacles just to loop again where I started from, without any valuable loot. What was even the point of what I just did!? I'll wait for a couple of months after the release.

Demo is not the start of the game. The demo build is over a year old at this point and LOTS has happened since then :D
We’re working hard on balancing and reward progression. This area in particular for example is now ability gated until you return with a different ability from another biome because we noticed that part threw people off too much - many people didn’t even understand it was purely optional. So yeah, we are making sure everything flows smoothly in terms of progression and “git gud” before offering a challenge like this haha

maybe im weird. cause i really liked that room with the health upgrade. sure i almost cussed a few times lol. But with a little patience i was able to revisit and complete the room in one try.
