This game has a simple premise that is executed in a rather intuitive way. I'll get this out of the way first but the biggest issue in my opinion is the AI art which the dev has said are supposed to be place holders. I feel like the game would look a lot better if the AI art was replaced with the simplistic and blocky graphics seen throughout the rest of the game (similar to 'For the King'). Moving on to the gameplay: each turn has you making lots of decisions and the games progress at a fast pace as there are no idle turns that are commonly found in 4X games. The average game takes around 2 hours to complete which is good since game length is known to be an issue in the 4X genre. Rogue Hex capitalizes on the roguelike aspect again by providing the goal of eliminating all the barbarians from the map which gives the players a strong sense of direction (which once again is a generalized issue with the 4X genre). As for the roguelike features, at the moment there isn't a strong sense of a "build" that you'd see in great roguelike games- but there is a lot of synergy currently present. This fault arises because ultimately your decisions boil down to 'what is the best way to increase your stats' so all of your choices will be met with a similar end result. Additionally, there isn't a large amount of alternative paths towards victory. You will always need specific resources, so choosing options which generate a lot of resources is always the best decision. Perhaps as the game gets more content this will improve but as it stands, there is still a lot of value in the current edition. I would highly recommend this game for players who are familiar or enjoy roguelike games and have been interested in trying out 4X games but have been scared off by the genre's massive size or game length. I would say this game is very reasonably priced, especially while on sale.

在这个游戏里，培养出一个远超时代的士兵变得过于重要，把你所有能获得的强化牌都给它然后它就能横扫游戏。

游戏中只承接了《文明》系列里面关于战争的部分，文化、科技和宗教在这里只为了战争而服务，使得玩法不够多样化，期待后续更新吧

I've found that the biggest issue with this game isn't the difficulty, but the lack of guidance. There's a crucial "Undo Last Move" button, yet there's no indication of its existence at all—I only discovered it after watching videos of other players. This feature is game-changing in terms of difficulty; once you have it, the game becomes much more balanced.
Another problem is the unclear instructions. For example, the card "Re-equip" is supposed to upgrade your soldier. However, it doesn't actually increase their level; instead, it directly transforms them into a soldier of the next era.
In this game, cultivating a soldier who far surpasses their era has become overly important. If you give them all the reinforcement cards you can obtain, they'll be able to dominate the entire game.
The game only retains the warfare aspect from the Civilization series. Culture, technology, and religion all serve solely to support warfare here, which makes the gameplay rather one-dimensional. Let's hope for better updates in the future.

I don't understand why the barbarians' weapons in Civilization VI update with the times. Each time, I have to face countless barbarians who are far more advanced than me.
I also can't comprehend why all soldier cards are made fragile and must be discovered in the library. If I use the opportunity to upgrade my card deck to discover soldiers, my deck will become weaker. But if I don't do this, I won't be able to deal with the barbarians. In the end, all that's left for me is a vicious cycle.
All of this makes me feel disgusted.I strongly discourage playing this game unless the developers adjust the difficulty.
