This is a very rough hidden gem of a Survival Game, one of my new favorites. The combat is simple, but feels satisfying and includes dodge canceling, although there seems to be random input lag sometimes. There's a skill system to spice things up, but nothing too complicated to overwhelm you. You have your fairy companion for some basic magic as well.

The horde mechanic is very focused on traps and ranged, but melee is still useful when the walls are breached. Hordes are massive and intense, but if played right you can get some respite in between waves. Hordes happen nightly, but can be disabled for one night by spending valueable crafting/upgrading materials. The way this is setup makes for a really fun gameplay loop where you switch between preparing for hordes and exploration. Exploring the island is fun with the varied biomes and you're usually rewarded for going off the beaten path. There's several bosses to find and defeat as well. Materials drop and usage rates feel balanced enough that it doesn't feel tedious. The writing and UI has a bit of jank to it, but hopefully it gets polished down the line.

Had some technical issues I had to overcome before getting decent performance and visuals on my 3050 4GB laptop though. Setting textures to Ultra, switching to DX12, applying DLSS4 and doing some Engine.ini tweaks did the trick for me. These are the Engine.ini tweaks I used:

This game just came out only a few month before me writing this, but id say, dont play it RIGHT NOW, or if you do, dont get too into it,.
NOTE BEFORE I START: This game has one of the
worst. building. Mechanics. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Ever.

You can build a base as you want just like any other game like this, however
Do know this dumb Mechanic allows you to “retrieve” built structures you have placed down.
I placed a railing i wanted to move, NOT destroy (one of the building options) upon picking up the railing
It asked me if i was sure i wanted to pick it up, but gave no info as to why it was asking me that, and me walking into this game blind did not know it was going to pickup the whole base, there taking everything i had in my chest such as boss items and more, and throw it up in the air and scattered all of it all over the area and further, most of which i did not find. And the game auto saved right after.

On paper the ability to pick up your base and move is awesome, but not if you can not execute it.
18+ hours and i lost 60% of my stuff give or take, once my chest were filled, NOT NOW!!

MOVING ON:
The game is set to ultra, my frame rate is pretty. And i have a bit of a beefy rig, yet the game looks like complete dog sh!t.
I played with the settings for a bit going up and down and there doesn't seem to be a change, you can see any detail and sometimes the textures don't even load. Imma try it on my other pc to try and see whatever i can see.

Controls often….OFTEN do respond.

SHOOTING (bows as that all i've gotten) you can shoot thru NPCs.
for example:there is this little pirate quartermaster guy that runs around after you engage with them, and they run very fast. Mine got stuck trying to run up and rock so i was right behind him but no close enough for him to change directions, i shot 13 bolts at him and all flew thru him.
So running after this guy that will absolutely take you into areas where harder enemies are, is annoying as well.

The combate is super basic, but doesnt stop me from playing, just super dull. Hit, block. No combos no nothing.

You can have a shield, but cant attack with it, but you also cant have a one handed weapon equipped with it, however you can block with all hand held weapons. Cos ig that makes ♥♥♥♥!ing scene

They have game world sliders like some other games, not very many and they don't really do much.

It has a lot of bugs, but it is still kinda new. NPCs and you, sometimes fall thru the world.
Sometimes a Mechanic will just stop working and you might have to close the game and restart, or save and reload.

I personally hate the fishing mini games in any game like this, Once human (closed beta was better) Nightingale and so on. This fishing mini game isnt bad until you hook a rare fish, now due to it being rare, i can get why its so hard to get.

The mini game is as so, you cast the line, hook something and a sliding bar on the right side of the screen as a timing kinda meter ( no sure what its called) and you must hit SPACE BAR as the sliding thing hits a bar that moves every time you hit or miss, there is also a timer. Both things in the mini game changes with a rare catch. But the bar you have to hit is so small and the sliding thing moves so fast, plus the little time to get it, is annoying.

But getting good at this mini game allows you to make a weapon( not sure how good it is as i can not get it) but you make it with five seahorses you catch in ig any body of water.

There are a few biomes but some of the smaller ones dont seem to have enough mobs while others smaller ones have a bit more. Not sure why. I know the jellyfish biome has two types of mobs, so maybe its smaller numbers of both, but farming them can take many in game days vs bigger biomes.

(And the game has no mob count slider that ive found) Such as other do, like Palworld.
Same with so farming items, Cacti are used to make a drink that help you fight off “heat stroke”?
But very few cacti to be found in a single area…

THE GOOD STUFF:
This game is like the Conan survival game, but much smaller. But thats not a bad thing.
This game has a quest menu and you will find NPCs that will give you quests to complete for XP, gold coins or items they likely sell.

Its refreshing to play a game that tries so much to be different, and this game tries that. The night time zombie raids are cool, but I ended up turning it off as it got annoying after a bit. There's plenty of mobs to fight in the game, so personally, I didn't care to keep fighting and rebuilding in this “tower defense” mini game.

The armor and weapons you can find, craft and buy are really cool. A sword that dose 99 Damage with a flame status effect became my bestie in the beginning of the game.

But all in all, Just let the game cook. Its not ready yet, and i should have waited as i HATE early access games for the very same reasons i can not recommend this game at this time, but I believe it will get better….i hope. Soul Mask ( my fav) you play as a Mayan like char, and in this a shipwrecked pirate. And i loved that idea, but now i gotta go and restock just about everything, so i best get to it. Set back by hours….gotta love it.

Gameplay looks like it would be fun, like it could be something great. unfortunately my 32Gigs of Ram is not enough to play this game as it maxes it out every time.
