Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless

i know why they refuse to include all the classes and other mechanics
because the game size would be bigger which means it would be an issue for people with standard memory for nintendo switch users, meaning they would need to buy a larger memory to download and play the game. if they made this for playstation and PC they could make the game bigger with more wanted content from past games.

makes sense, no?

Imagine having all classes and having to do class mastery for them all? Would be a massive drag. It's better they don't include all classes for that alone. Plus then the games would remain largely the same, with a large portion being the same classes in every game. Keeps it a bit more interesting to have only a couple "regular" classes, like Thieves, Nekomata, Succubus, etc etc.

Yeah, having all classes added would honestly be a horrid idea.

You may be overestimating how much storage would be needed. I suspect it's actually:

A) developer and asset creation time
B) time to test everything
C) That adding all classes the series ever had wouldn't add much to the game and would just confuse new players with how to develop a party
D) What little it would add would feel like artificial length

Why do the classes even matter when you need to farm so much for the main ones, that the generic never even matter unless there is some kind of exploit (like how capturring massive HP enemies was in previous ones). Heck, it get's so bad, then for every generic class, they add a random unique story NPC (those side characters, like bosses you see once and then they join your team), that are further out shadowing the generic class they are based on. Something that keeps happening since the 1st disgaea

Essentially, unless you use them as a tool to improve unique character, or to use them as support/meat shield, generic classes are just there.... having more of them only helps to reduce situations where you get feed up seeing the same enemies

Except, if all generic units had the same "core", aka you do mastery for one, all of them get it, and when i mean all, i do mean ALL, no race, no class, every last one of them. Then generic unites would becomes extremely valuable. Especially since, if you just create one, it's already top tier with no issues. And funny enough, if the "core"'s stats it based on the Main Character's stats, then not only would improving the stats of the main characters be even more rewarding, it also ensures everyone keeps up with the your favourites, without you needing to use non favourites, just for the sake of grindings. A real, one for all situation
