Sucker For Love: Date To Die For Bug/Issues Report Thread [& Known Issues]
Hello!

Feel free to post any issues that you're currently experiencing in Sucker For Love: Date To Die For in this thread. This will help keep a lot of the player reports together and make it easier to parse for us!

Seems like there might be a memory leak? After 2ish hours of playing, I started getting stutters, and a quick check over in the task manager read it as using up over 12,000 mb of memory. Rebooting the program fixed the issue so not a huge deal.

This bug report contains minor uncensored spoilers

A few minor bugs

1. Chapter 999 the checkpoint between arriving and using chrysalis won't activate even after completion

2. chapter 1000 during final dream I started to explore the house before going to the entrance. Upon clicking the basement I had static which gave me a 2:30 survive timer with the bells BUT the bells didn't come with the text at the top of the screen just a survive timer. this reset when i went to the entrance and at 0:0! the game crashed I have not been able to replicate this at time of typing

3.chapter 1000 I'm not sure if it's meant to be lore related but during the final dream chapter I could interact with items that weren't there such as the plant in the bath or the white flower in the bedroom

4. during the credit roll flying sequence once i hit a certain point the filter on the screen shifted to the left leaving a clear line

5. the third heart in the basement never starts beating

I've noticed in the third chapter that a few of Kidd's fans appear before they should at random, like the idol in the window and the grandmother in the area of the house that leads to the cellar.

In chapter 2, while going through the radio chanting ritual, I had saved Billie and then ended up enraging her and then dying to her (cause I was stupid lol), which is all intended. On the next life, though, I didn't bother saving her and went straight to do the ritual, but this time she didn't come after me and was just standing at the top of the stairs in her pose from before. After I moved onto starting the forest maze ritual, I tried clicking on her again out of curiosity and then she disappeared. The game froze for a few seconds and then I was able to continue to the balcony. After I chanted the phrase, I entered the bathroom door and then got a hard crash with a raw error code. I tried grabbing a screenshot but it looks like it didn't save either. That's the main bug I know of, but it seems like it may have affected more than that? I'll look into it more to see if it's just a coincidence + me being stupid, but ill go into the theoretically related issues here:

Update: other parts were just me being stupid :( (although the labyrinthe roots puzzle seems a bit underexplained? might just be me being dumb again but I thought I was softlocked)

Second update: seems like the crash from before may have been unrelated to the billie bug and is probably just related to the memory leak already reported from before, since I got another crash with a similar error file that just happened randomly.

Third update: apparently I somehow skipped the third checkpoint of Chapter 999? idk man

keep getting a strange bug, game continuously crashes when i try to leave the house at the end of the game. was able to go to auntie and get that ending, but i seemingly cannot get the good/true ending.

update: reinstalled game, verified the files, still getting a crash. it also cleared my progress with the keepsakes in chapter 3, for whatever reason.

Playing Chapter 1 (without having finished it), I tried to reload a checkpoint to see what happened if I made a different choice after healing myself. But I had the goal 'Perform Rotbloom' and if I tried to open the door it said something like "{I have everything I need in this room}". Neither trying the door or reading the book triggered Buck knocking on the door, and I couldn't find anything else that did either. Even if I reloaded to the checkpoint before (Brought Nanni To The Room) and can the healing spell, it didn't trigger.

Not the original commenter but i had this bug too.
I'm pretty sure that its something to do with laptop compatibility mode because when I turned that off it stopped crashing.

Have you tried to verify the files? In the meantime, I have informed the developer!
