The second part has no soul. Just shooting enemies, searching for objects and beautiful graphics.
Not a fan of the grim side of things...that part in this game is very disgusting to me...I just wanted to walk around a bit, and see the scenery that is all..
The story is TD1 is much better, and if you don't care about it, skip dialog and walk out of the echo zones so it stops. I never cared about it that much, same with sequel in which it currently makes no sense anymore. Think it's their way of adding zombies.
Buyng the 1 only because 2 is bugged not is good to say. The 2 is enjoable and the bugs not block you to play the game well. Of course the 1 is only for the story and survival but for end game is better the 2.
Both of them is better in coop. Of course can solo but on end game have a missions cannot be done alone because the game aim for coop.
If you just want to "walk around a bit - and see the scenery" then you should definitely go for Div2.
For one thing, Div2 takes place in DC, which has many more interesting landmarks and varied environments than NYC. And for once, Ubisoft actually make good use of these iconic backdrops (Lincoln Memorial, the White House, etc). You also get forests and swamps in the main game.
NYC is just an endless parade of skyscrapers, and Div1 is graphically similar to scrolling through IKEA's web shop (not surprising considering the game is made by Swedish studios). But the overall feel is very bland and pastel-coloured (just like every IKEA furniture you've ever seen). Even most of the vehicles are thinly disguised Volvos - and I swear I'm not making this up!
For another thing, if you buy Div2 on the €10 Steam sale now, you also get the Warlords of New York DLC. You can then decide to move directly to the DLC area and get a 30-level boost before firing a single shot. All ares are now Level 30, including the DC areas.
Of course, enemies are always at your level, but the weapons and gear start at Level 30, which allows for a much more interesting and balanced gameplay. You get much better equipment right off the bat, and you will feel much more inclined to walk around the whole map and enjoy the scenery and the buildings.
The truth is that they both follow the Ubisoft formula of “turn off your brain and mindlessly run around and shoot things to collect colorful rewards.”
If you liked one you’ll like the other, and vice versa.
"The truth is that they both follow the Ubisoft formula of “turn off your brain and mindlessly run around and shoot things to collect colorful rewards.”"
that is sadly the conclusion I made about both....which makes me want to not bother with either....as most games just feel like a huge waste of time.
Div1 has the much better atmosphere. The lighting/atmospheric effects are close to horrible in Div2. But everything else feels really very good plus there are enough players around (which you do need to get some good stuff from legendary missions).
Buy 1, test it for an hour > refund
Then test 2 for an hour > decide
