swap a piece out and back in super annoying bug though may have to do it more than once

Yea its a buggy mess, you have to swap out the parts and put them back to get the bonuses working again.

You would think things like this, broken sets would be a priority fix for devs, but no......

yea managed to get mine working with the gear switch, crazy they haven't fixed that ♥♥♥♥ yet!
