Steam for Linux

[Bug] Steamwebhelper crashes repeatedly at random and makes games unplayable
Hello. For the past half year, I've had a rare bug where once in a blue moon Steam will either:
A. Randomly kill itself and take down any game I'm playing with it
B. Crash and reopen over and over, even if I kill EVERY steam process, so aggressively that I can't even use my computer unless I reboot entirely.
C. Steam will randomly open a new popup "Would you like to uninstall this game?" with no context and it cannot be bypassed or even alt-tabbed out of because it just instantly closes and reopens until eternity.
D. Freezes on a black screen when reopened from the system tray
E. Dies and then refuses to open again without even an error message until I reboot

Valve, for the love of christ, please switch back to VGUI and stop using this lazy web broswer garbage that is sloppily glued together with spit. I've lost two tournament matches in THE FINALS over this bug alone. It's been in Steam for long enough and it should have been noticed by somebody by now. If you aren't going to make your new UI actually decent (you can stop relying on XWayland for starters, which would immediately help performance tenfold for geforce users), then you need to give us back the old vgui launch options.

looks like they're aware per: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+webhelper+crash ... perhaps you should add your experience to the list.

Yes, please. steamwebhelper is known to crash for all sorts of reasons, and there seems to be a new forum post about issues with it every week. I've had all sorts of issues with it. Even if I could cba to make a 3rd party github acct just to report this crap, I still wouldn't bother wasting 2 minutes on it. A new bug would just appear next week. Won't change until they learn how to code like adults.

Hundred million dollars in pocket lint, can't even make an app without throwing it in the blender with a browser. tsk tsk. Mighty fallen the how have (sorry, was using official steam app to type that).

Since this also happened just now, I'll share a candid pic of steam when it forgot to put on makeup (throws a vanilla browser popup menu instead of what's supposed to be there):
