Good game and ost , angel weapons suck

TL;DR: 8/10 Is' a good game, and for a reboot not the worst thing in to world. imo its worth the value.

The Good

Graphics look nice for a mid 2010's game and the environment flows in unique and cool ways.The TV station/ prison come to mind with these because they could've went basic, but instead they cooked hard with the way it looks.

The combat 90% of the time it feels fluid and responsive. the other 10% i will mention later this, is kinda about par for the series, there is always 1 part of it that feels off or less developed but, it doesn't detract from the combat.

Difficulties are vast, I as of time of review, just beat the game on Son of Sparta difficulty and it is a sheer wall in difficulty vs the basic normal difficulty. But. never felt bullshitty. Outside of 2 parts, these parts both i would realize were needed for me to improve. These 2 times were.

1- changed the 1st boss's flow hardcore. It makes sense and it shows the player that things are different here too however, dude is obnoxious when his gimick no longer works, it makes Kat's molotov seem pointless... Also if she was in the real world and yeeted that molotov... what did it hit???

2- on the 2nd level there was a part with an absolutely insane amount of the chainsaw enemies and flame shielders. At the time i was irked bc this seemed dumb. Then i realized it was hard forcing me to learn how to juggle in the air and move targets.

These 2 moments ended up helping me alot.

Lots of platforming. I understand a little, but man... I felt like a 2000's sony exclusive... wait a minute...

The bad.

Jankiness in combat. this refers to 3 main things I noticed.
1- dodge/ mobility does not pull priority over your attack. Meaning you cant cancel an attack to dodge causing for some awkward moments especially when a certain douche likes to parry all your attacks and a feight wouldve been helpful.

2- angelic weapons are unsatisfying to use. They don't do enough damage, the 1 is crowd control i get that but the scythe should do enough damage that seeing a blue enemy doesnt make me sigh bc i know its gonna be a long fight.

3- inconsitent enemy/ dodging- I noticed occasionally; that some enemies just hit no matter what. examples are...
Chainsaw guys have a few seconds where no matter whats happening they hit you, unless you dodge WELL outside their aoe.
Butchers/ tyrant's turn around and knock back swings seem to vary on distance meaning sometimes you dodge sometimes you dont. seems about 50/50

I got into the dmc series not long ago and ive beaten 3,4, and 5
Ever since i knew of this game i had heard it calling me, like the drums of jumanji
i was literally yelled at not to get the game by veteran fans, but decided to get it because i actually wanted to rewrite it and am in the process of doing so after taking notes the entire game and i discovered something
this game is insanely over hated
like its fun to make fun of how bad it is for sure but it dont really deserved to be shunned like it is, i was preparing for the worst but i found myself guiltily enjoying the game and being excited to continue it! I think it should be treated as a spinoff or alternate universe instead of a reboot which is the direction ill be taking it for sure. It definitely needs to be reworked imo but its still very very fun to play
