Complaint list begins now:

1. There is no lock on button.
2. Most the new enemy encounters are the same as some of the previous one with slight changes.
3. Forcing us to use certain weapons on certain enemies denies us the freedom in combat. Now we need to group the enemies before using 1 of 2 weapons u are allowed to use.
4. Everything is looks messy and boss fights are all mid. (besides El Verga aka Vergin)
5. The game is more like a cheap spider man game at this point with all the swinging
6. Dodging feels weird compared to other dmc games.
7. NO ROYAL GUARD or any of the other styles

One bright side to all this. Dante may not lock in, but El Donte stays locked in.

DMC is the kind of game to give you annoying pop-ups during boss fights to explain mechanics, the kind of game with a plot so empty of substance as to feature "Dante" and a demon yelling "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" at each other for a minute instead of showing any imagination, the kind of game that reminds you of the poor knockoffs generated in the wake of better games.

The gameplay itself is OK. While clunky, you can swap between a limited set of weapons mid-combo. I never got a good flow going, especially when the platforming powers tied to the weapons are thrown into the mix, but I assume someone could. The enemies are basic.

I'd recommend anyone considering this game try Devil May Cry 3, 4, or 5 first. Devil May Cry 1 is a little rough, and 2 is bad, and you don't need background to get into later entries. If you've already tried the originals, and still want to try DMC, knock yourself out.
