Braindead funzies.

Awesome shooter that ticks all the boxes for me. Fun and easy gameplay with a huge amount of unlocks and builds to explore. Played it with my brother in local co-op, but it works well using Remote Play Together as well. Just get it!

As someone who's been waiting for a Geometry Wars roguelite for quite some time, this is the current best approximation out there right now. The moment-to-moment gameplay isn't as good, but Shape Shifter: Formations is a much deeper game than GW, with plenty of metaprogression and the kind of buildcraft you'd expect from a modern roguelite.

There's a lot of content here via unlockables and skill trees, so, if you vibe the the gameplay, you'll be set for a while. I don't think this holds up to games like Nova Drift or the marquee twin-stick shooters (e.g. Gungeon, Throne); however, it's more arcade-y and very easy to pick-up-and-play, and thusly coexists alongside them peacefully.
