Shape Shifter: Formations is an action twin-stick shooter with rogue-lite elements, where you must destroy hordes of geometric enemies alone or with a friend. Select your ship and combine a large variety of weapons, abilities and infinitely stacking upgrades to craft your own unique build.

Fixes

Fixed an issue where constructs could still target the Heptahydra's heads after they were killed.
Fixed an issue where Havoc's ability would not move from the Heptahydra's heads when killing them.
Fixed a crash that could occur when using bouncing projectiles such as dark orbs or the bouncing blade upgrade.
Fixed an issue where the Fabricator could sometimes display an input saying you could reroll the item.
Fixed an issue where if you rerolled an item at the recycler, you would have to move away from the machine and back for the item card to display.
Fixed some construct scaling/speed issues that could occur when using Bastion's Promotion skill.
Fixed an issue where some constructs would stop looking for new enemies if there were none at close range.
Potentially fixed a crash that could occur when using the Helix Rifle. (We think we've found the cause but haven't been able to recreate this on our end so please let us know if you see it again.)

Balance

Power Surge (Common) - Increased damage bonus from 10%->20% and increased the duration from 30s->90s.
Singularity (Uncommon) - Increased damage bonus from 10%->15%.
Brute Force (Uncommon) - Increased damage bonus from 8%->12%.
Shardstrike (Epic) - Increased damage bonus per stack from 1%->1.25%.
Storm (Ship) - Increased base ability damage from 65->75.
Ark (Ship) - Increased the base damage dealt by shock motes from 20->30.
Flash (Ship) - Increased the damage dealt by the Blinkstrike+ skill from 20%->30%, and increased the shock applied from 5->10.
Bomb-R (Ship) - Increased the locks/banishes granted by skills from 2->3, and increased the base damage of the Bombardment skill from 40->50.
Flux Cannon (Weapon) - Lowered the fire rate debuff of each level of the Quantum Burst skill from -5%->-2.5%.
Energy Blade (Weapon) - Increased the damage reduction granted by the Bladeguard skill from 5%->10%.
Frost Spear (Weapon) - Increased the base frost applied per hit bonus of the Deep Freeze skill from 0.5%->1%.

Artifacts and Last Boss

Literally the only thing lacking with the 1.0 update. 20 runs and zero artifacts encountered, the spawn rate is still abyssmal. Also what the hell is the HP of the Shapeshifter Boss, I have all passives unlocked and still it takes 5-10 minutes to beat. I understand that it's supposed to be challenging, but slaping absurd amounts of HP isn't a challenge....

Added an accessibility option to be able to toggle firing on/off when using KBM.
Fixed an issue where you could unlock higher mastery tiers while playing below threat 50.
Fixed an issue where the pause menu could display current mastery level even when playing below threat 50.
Fixed an issue where rerolling a glitched upgrade could still say it is glitched if it isn't.
Improves Blaze's ability collision when firing from the corner of arenas.
Fixed a visual issue where dual picking an upgrade would not update your passive list correctly when using multiple level ups in a row.
Fixed an issue where Swarm's C-RAM skill would not correctly destroy projectiles.
Fixed an issue where the Fusion Reactor upgrade was less effective than it's card stated.

Save File Deleted?

Hello, I updated my game, and it gave us save files, which is cool, I guess. But why did it delete all of my progress? I had everything unlocked and quite a few achievements unlocked, but now there's nothing in my game. Is there a way to fix that, or am I just out of luck and I have to redo everything?...

Weird Weapon Interactions

Is there some way to see what the various attack stats do for different weapons? For instance: I have no idea what Accuracy or Projectile Speed do to the Cryo Beam.

Is the corrosive bolter supposed to be terrible?

I want to like the weapon but the shots just uselessly circle enemies without HITTING them. What's the point of a homing weapon that cannot reliably hit the target?

NOTICE - 1.0 Saves

Just a quick notice as we've seen some people mention this. But saves are not wiped with this update. You have the option to import your EA save while on the profile menu, with the "R" Key or with "Triangle/Y" on gamepad. We only left the profiles blank by default as we recommend a fresh save to experience the game with all the new progression. But it is absolutely not a requirement....

Awesome shooter that ticks all the boxes for me. Fun and easy gameplay with a huge amount of unlocks and builds to explore. Played it with my brother in local co-op, but it works well using Remote Play Together as well. Just get it!

As someone who's been waiting for a Geometry Wars roguelite for quite some time, this is the current best approximation out there right now. The moment-to-moment gameplay isn't as good, but Shape Shifter: Formations is a much deeper game than GW, with plenty of metaprogression and the kind of buildcraft you'd expect from a modern roguelite.

There's a lot of content here via unlockables and skill trees, so, if you vibe the the gameplay, you'll be set for a while. I don't think this holds up to games like Nova Drift or the marquee twin-stick shooters (e.g. Gungeon, Throne); however, it's more arcade-y and very easy to pick-up-and-play, and thusly coexists alongside them peacefully.
