The kamae of the sprites look very strange. They have this wide stance with hunched shoulders and straight arms. Nobody in real life holds swords like that, you'd throw your arms out of their sockets and get tennis elbow. This applies to both eastern and western weapons. Hello! I looked at gameplay online and noticed everyone else's animations are MUCH faster than mine. I watched runs where folks are playing without extras to make sure it was the standard gameplay, and yep -- way faster. I checked my settings in the game, noticed it was running at 30 fps and it needs to be running at 60.
