After a long wait, BOWLOUT has finally released, and we couldn't be happier! The game was originally going to be a school-project collaboration between Quint and I, but development went so well that we were able to turn it into a complete game!

For the both of us, releasing our own game on Steam was something we never considered to be possible, but simply going for it did the trick! It was really cool to make a game for paying customers for the first time - it made us focus on making the game more accessible, polished, and complete. This is why we chose for the game to be simpler and shorter; we prevented padding or overscaling the game. Lots of indies fail to reach the finish line because there's always more to add.


For a short and simple game without a marketing budget, we had relatively low sales expectations, but we're happy to report we've just passed 100 sales! We really appreciate every person playing the game and have read every review so far! Our main takeaways are that, while players find the game very short, they are having a good time and appreciate the effort put into the polishing and additional features (settings, achievements, unlockables).
