Flow and speed in the game, and potential changes?

Hello, I am very much a fan of the game visually and conceptually, and I am highly interested in buying it, but honestly from the trailer I have mixed feelings about the movement and I don't know to what extend will that affect it. At least from a visual standpoint based on the trailers and a little bit of gameplay watched, it feels that it lacks the feel (and the actual) of speed and momentum, that games like this rely on, especially on the "falling" part after a jump or chaining moves. What is a Sonic game was merged with the aesthetic of Jet Grind Radio? You'd get RKGK (Rakugaki). Its a straight-forward platformer, that is pretty stylish. You need a certain amount of the key item to unlock the boss stage. There are multiple objectives for replaying a stage, in which you earn currency for cosmetics. The difficulty ramps up very nicely. The biggest problem is that the final boss's final phase has just a bit too much going on. Otherwise, I think this is a nice idea that's made for people looking for a specific experience.
