Please make an FTL 2
This is one of the best games I've ever played, and this is going back more than a decade. I've played lots of "clones", they're all garbage compared to this game. This is truly an inspiring game. I wish they would add to it, but I know they said they wouldn't. So how about making a second one?

Play mods first.
Also search FTL 2 in the sidebar.

I did play mods, they're good. But still it's not the same as having a dev made brand new game ya know?

Maybe some day, but don't count on it.

I've said this a few times, but I honestly deeply respect Subset Games for not just churning out more FTL until we all got sick of it.

They left A LOT of money on the table not doing that, but instead went on to try crafting their art their own ways. And personally deeply enjoyed Into The Breach, a game that wouldn't have existed if we'd gotten FTL 2, 3 whatever by now instead.

What if we got an FTL Super Advanced Edition mode that revamped the worst parts of FTL, which is to say all of the waiting and grinding aspects (skill crew farming).

I think there's no reason for them to DLC up for this game. Like the game is fantastic, but all the other stuff that can be done is perfectly doable in a DLC or 2, which would be great.

Please do not make FTL 2. If they had gone on to make FTL 2 after they were done with the first one, we wouldn't have Into The Breach, a far superior game. I don't want to miss out on whatever different thing they can make next because of them instead choosing to make an uninspired sequel. And yes, that means I don't want Into The Breach 2 either.

I played into the breach, it's not superior in any way.

All a matter of opinion. But there's no telling whether you might end up liking their third project even more than FTL, the same way I liked their second project more. The potential for something new and interesting is more exciting to me than an iteration on a previous game.

And if they did release a sequel to FTL, inevitably one side of the fanbase would dislike it for being too different, while the other side would dislike it for being too similar.

Gameplay is a matter of opinion, but saying a game that has finite strategies is superior to a game what has infinite ones is not. It's like comparing checkers and chess.

Into The Breach has finite strategies in much the same way that chess does. Technically finite, but not practically. But more importantly, I have much more fun playing Into The Breach than I do FTL, which is why I labelled it superior. Perhaps I should have clarified that I meant in my opinion, but I think it should go without saying, because the matter of one piece of media being superior to another is invariably opinion-based.

Umm no, not even close, if has ACTUAL finite strategies, because it's made on a literal board with fixed enemy reactive moves. If it were made on a board with another person on the other side then it could be relatively unpredictable. Chess on the other hand has such a high number of moves, that even when talking about calculating it becomes exhausting.
