I expected a clicheed mecha harem game , but what i got was an amazing sci-fi thriller with detective and horror elements, all packed up in a lovely retro anime package.
I can highly recommend this game for the plot-twists and branching story paths alone. there is SO MUCH to discover.

Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog is the lost 90's mecha anime I've been waiting for and an early contender for my favorite game of the year.

While the striking aesthetic, reminiscent of the PC-98, along with the pounding synth soundtrack can draw you in and make the purchase worthwhile on its own, the true secret to what takes Gun-Dog from good to great is the characters. You will immediately find a favorite character and excitedly run through all their conversation options just before you meet your NEW favorite character and repeat the cycle.

From the strong in both body and personality "Chief" to the slimy Hansen to your bubbly marshmallow of a girlfriend Cassie, the connection you feel to each one will make the tough decisions later in the game all the more difficult.

Except for Vanessa Lord. Me and my homies all hate Vanessa.

If you've ever had a soft spot for the mecha melodrama of Gundam or the character interactions of the Firefly crew, buy this game immediately. You will not regret it!

I miss these kind of throwback Noir science fiction stories and they are increasingly hard to find given their retro nature. It is a short title but absolutely worth your time and has several different paths you can take to reach the end that change what you see. If you love those old 80's and 90's era science fiction anime stories, this has to be in your collection. I would love for this to become a series down the road. :) Thank you to the developer for this little gem. I enjoyed the journey. 10/10 would buy again.
