On the Nintendo Switch edition, instead of the sleep girl, the icon thingie has a pink-haired girl holding a book. Does anyone know if she’s in the game?

I beat the first 4 levels of the first chapter, then I decided to go 'Home' because the NPC of the chapter suggested I could go "home for a breather" anytime I wanted, but when I returned to the chapter, I had to start from the beginning (level 1) again. I get the same result when I quit the game instead of going 'Home', so it seems like the game only saves after you complete each chapter, instead of after each level like you would expect it to. That means you are forced to complete a chapter in one sessio...
