We’re back with another exciting patch for Castle Craft, and we’ve implemented a bunch of the things you've requested! Not only have we squashed bugs, but we’ve also optimized performance, improved gameplay mechanics, and balanced some key elements to make your castle-building and defense experience even better! 💥

• Resource spots now save and restore when loading/saving. Goodbye re-load resource exploit 🦴
  
• Brute charge attack has been improved for more devastating impact! 💪⚡
  
• Minions now find the closest resource spot they can reach, making resource gathering more efficient.
  
• Rocket artillery’s projectile trajectory and performance have been fine-tuned for a cooler "drunken rocket" behavior! 💥
  
• One-click upgrades for prefabs like windows and doors! 🏗️
  
• Prefab integrity checks optimized for smoother performance.
  
• Telekinesis ability is now more reactive! Grab and throw objects even faster! 🪄✨

• Friendly archers' range reduced by around 15% to balance the battlefield.
  
• Road now gives a sprinting speed boost, so you can sprint even faster on roads!

• Added confirmation prompt when deleting a profile—no more accidental deletions! 🔒

• Bomblings no longer become (occasionally) invincible after dying! 🦴
  
• Fixed player equipment visibility when controlling a trap—now it’s all about the traps!
  
• Blade Prison and other skills are now reliably activatable during the combat phase.
  
• Brutes no longer die from fall damage during their charge attack.
  
• Fixed falling kill zone being too high in Stygia—now you can dig all the way to the ground without dying.
  
• Pickup kiting issue when running past a pickup is now fixed.
  
• Iron pickups no longer get stuck inside the iron resource spots.
  
• Fixed wall upgrade ability missing the change grid size sound.
  
• Right Mouse Button no longer cancels digging volume abilities.
  
• Attached prefabs (banners or horizontal spikes) no longer block wall upgrades.
  
• Things no longer attach to banners unintentionally.
  
• Mid-Air Smash can no longer be activated from very low heights.
  
• Climbing and Mjolnir sounds now respect audio volume settings.
  
• Platoon follow/unfollow bug has been resolved—platoons behave as expected!
  
• Flying player pawn no longer takes damage from spikes while in building mode.
  
• Telekinesis projectile no longer lingers mid-air if hitting friendlies.

• Fire lights now have a more orange hue than yellow for a warmer, more atmospheric glow.

We’re also making great progress on our first content patch, and it’s going to be big! Here’s what you can expect:

1. Reworked building menu – Say goodbye to shuffling skills on your skill bar! A smoother, easier interface is coming.
   
2. New economic zones: Quarters and Barracks will increase your minion and platoon limits—more builders, more warriors!
   
3. Improved procedural level generation – Get ready for even more dynamic, unpredictable battlefields! 🌍
   
4. Platoon Command Tool – Easily reposition your platoons in the building phase or command them during the combat phase—tactical freedom at its best! 🔧⚔️

Hey everyone!

We are also happy to finally add custom key bindings to the demo! They will allow non-QWERTY players to customize the game to their liking.

But wait, there is more in this demo update!

⏳ Gameplay & Controls:
* Pickups now have physics.
* Added more language localizations.
* The salvage tool now highlights things you can salvage (units, traps).
* Large traps now affect Minions navigation, getting them to avoid them.
* Improved target actor when placing cubes horizontally, allowing to place horizontally even in challenging conditions such as very horizontal look-at angle.
* A new settings menu with lots of new options.
* A foliage density option - this helps the game run better on older GPUs.
* Tutorial: The world state now restored after tutorial to avoid possible exploits like collecting infinite resources.
* Reworked skill-bar code that will allow us to add a skill selection wheel in the future.
* Shepherd's View now has a time dillution option for slow-motion and time lapses.
* When a friendly platoon follows you, you can now always let it stop following you with a new key.

🔥 Weapons & Combat:
* Improved cannon and projectile defences behavior: They now ensure they have a line of sight on the target, don’t target units they can’t hit due to the required rotation, and prioritize closer target
* Rocket artillery is doing significantly more damage inside it’s damage radius
* Enemy waves 11-15 are less difficult, they have 1-2 enemy platoons less each.

📷 Audio, Visual & AI Enhancements:
* Increase font sizes across the board: HUD, menu, kingdom info
* Archers don't charge into battle anymore if the enemy units are outside their melee charge range.
* Reduce music volume when the game is paused.

🔥Bug Fixes
* King upgrades are now applied correctly.
* Fixed: Sometimes you could not interact with defences until you moved away and back again.
* Fixed: Blending to black did not alway cover all menu elements.

The bulwark of your castle remains your last line of defense against the eldritch terrors unleashed by the Acolytes. Yet, victory demands more than strength; it requires ingenuity. You must harness the full potential of your fortress in innovative ways to fend off the encroaching darkness and secure your kingdom's survival.

Hey everyone, we have just publisher the first patch for the demo, taking various feedback into accound we've received. A HUGE thanks to everyone who has made suggestions and joined our discord. Here are the changes:

⏳ Gameplay & Controls:
* A separate stamina bar that is used for sprinting, double jumps, and shield smashes
* More Build Time in Easy and Default mode.
* Mouse Inversion Option for both character and building pawn.
* Pickaxe Speed Boosts at higher levels.
* Easier waves 1 and 2.
* Improved enemy army positioning.
* The tutorial can be skipped completely via a dialogue option in the first dialogue.
* Friendly archers aim better and predict enemy movement. They also don't charge into enemy units anymore when at a distance.
* We don't teleport minions home anymore if you build economic zones underneath them. We just lift them up.

🔥 Weapons & Combat:
* Improved Ballista and Multi-Ballista: they lock on target quicker and shoot more accurately
* Flamethrower Fixes & Improvements – Crash issue resolved while being destroyed, HUD updated, and fuel recharges faster.
* Smarter Army Composition Algorithm for more of a natural unit placement.
* The sword has a stronger knock-back effect & can be used while jumping
* Improved magnets: They now attract flying units too & have less of a performance impact.

📷 Visual & AI Enhancements:
* Improved Camera Angles when enemy armies spawn.
* Flying Skeleton Bombers Nerfed – Attack speed significantly reduced.

🔥Bug Fixes
* Crash fixed which was due to the flame thrower firing mechanism.
* Some players being stuck in the tutorial after the economic zone part.
* Sometimes brainlings don't get activated and stand around.
* Some players were stuck in the sword part of the tutorial.
* Enemy units now do the correct amount of damage to doors, traps, and other prefabs.
