Hello everyone, it has been a while.
As you may have noticed, there have been no updates for Chonky in the last few months, and we would like to apologize for that. After spending more and more time fixing little bugs and adding missing features, we decided that Chonky and ourselves needed a break.
We are currently creating a new design document for Chonky. Once we have a better grasp on what we want Chonky to be, we will return to active development. Some of the core systems will have to be replaced. Therefore, it might take a while.
But rest assured, we will return to our beloved project. With a major rework and a lot of new content.

Hey, Just wondering if anyone has any news regarding the game at all. Thought it was a fun little exploration action game sad to see nothing new on news or updates since last year.

Tldr: Lots of quality of live and visual improvements, as well as fixes for small problems. And making Chubbington much more lively.^^

Fixes:

Fixed the effect from Rain of Light despawning to soon
Fixed Enemy health bars clipping behind the environment
Fixed dialogue reply placement
Re added Water Chonky dialogue lines
Fixed items being dropped out of the inventory when you missed their slot
Fixed Small Rockball unlock text
Fixed particles on item drops not aligning
Fixed Snailys sleeping through being hit
Fixed Fire Beam colliding with level boundaries
Fixed consumables scaling with level
Fixed remember skill functionality
Fixed some steps in the fields being traversable
Fixed a major memory leak

Additions:

Attack speed is now compared in the item hover as well
Added a shatter effect to meteors
Calculate all buffs and effects into the damage displayed in the stats total window
Added all damage types to the stats total window for more information on what damage you deal
Added sketch to failed quests window
More talkable NPCs
Renegade Chubb
Added cooldown, elemental offensive and defensive, as well as increase and decrease icons
Added elemental damage type icons in stats total and hover texts
Comparison now works with two-handed weapons vs one-hand + off-hand
Added sprint and consumables key bindings
More Chubbs
More NPC animations
Added death fields around the map
Added a veggie market stall
Added bound key behind button hover texts in the HUD
Added the damage a skill is currently dealing into the diary
Dialogues and other pop-ups can now be skipped and stepped through with enter, space and 'e'

Buffs:

Shortened the time between meteor impacts and them dealing damage
Broken prefix occurs now not so often

Nerfs:

Nerfed Season of Storms damage by 33%
Nerfed Firenado Discharge damage by 25%
Nerfed Small Meteor damage by 12.5%
Nerfed Asteroid damage by 30%
Nerfed Big Meteor damage by 15%
Locked player movement while casting Fire Beam
Reduced sprinting bonus to 30%

Random:

Changed level scaling to have an even increase between each level
Removed decimals from all stats
Sped up meteor explosions
Reworked quest log and quest diary page
Made the ghost icons in the inventory hover darker
Changed the Skill description for the web skills

Tldr: The HUD and the UI have been reworked, Stability and Performance were improved, Gamebalance and Gameplay have been upgraded and a lot of things where added, including 26 new Chonky NPCs.

Fixes:

Fixed crashes on entering and reloading levels
Fixed negative multiplicative boni in the hover text of items being coloured the wrong way around when comparing
Fixed healing being reduced by your armor
Fixed Enemy and Item levelling not being linear
Stats will now be removed from the Character when unequiping items
Fixed the weapon trails not adjusting their colour to your element
Fixed Dark Tentacle Row unlock working with all weapons and not just two-handed ones

Additions:

Added an option to sprint (hold shift for +20% movespeed)
10 new interactible Chonky NPCs
Added 15 background Chonkys
Added the option to track a quest and a questlog where your progress is visible outside of the diary
More elemental buffing items to enable builds for every element
Finally Enabled the Snaily to go to sleep
Added explore the world quests that lead you to all the areas
Added our new Enhydra Games Splashscreen
Added consumable display to HUD (with hovertext)
A new AI for our enemies giving them better movement and more behaviour options
Added new questmarker variations onto map
A fishing camp
New prefixes
New Work In Progress icons for skills
New loading screen tips
Added consumables into the tutorial
2 new casting animations

Buffs:

Increased Forest Chonky movement speed from 450 to 475
Buffed Dark Tentacle damage by 50%
A Hot Present explodes faster now

Nerfs:

Light Builds
Increased Tripple Light Spear cooldown by 50%
Nerved rain of light damage by 20%
Increased frognado family cooldown to 15 seconds
Nerfed Standing Rocknado damage by 50%
Drastically increased the movement lock during the casting of Season of Storms
Nerfed Red Shroom normal and special attack from 30 to 25
Nerfed Green Shroom special attack from 20 to 15
Nerfed Spoder normal attack from 20 to 15
Nerfed Spoder special attack from 30 to 25
Reduced the area level of the mini swamp from 2 to 1

Random:

Reworked the majority of the UI, rest is to follow
Performance Improvements
Stability Improvements
Made Damage Resistance scale slower but higher
Made the cooldowns for weapon attacks more distinct
Gave the Torch weapon a flame
Updated the flavour text of some quest items
Increased zoom speed

the game keeps crashing after unlocking the first 2 skills, so far i have not found the reason

Are there any npcs or quests?

So I've played this game a bit, I reached town, but I can't talk to anyone and there are few possible paths, where am I supposed to go? Is there any story in this game? Btw I have few ideas/issues about this game: -sometimes trees etc are covering main hero and game area, I think there should be some sort of circle which uncovers area around Chonky -game world should be more interactive, there should be destructible objects like barrels or chests with loot to open -map and bestiary would be cool, bestiar...
