cant play because of games for windows live
finally found a code for PC & cant play this because games for windows live is discontinued. Also no controller support, i cant use KB&M and don't prefer to use it in any games, but even then, the enter key to start the game doesn't even work. so yeah, game is 99% unplayable outside of being able to make it to the title screen.

it is not true, windows live is still working today and of course online pvp is working too. Let me explain it, The game installs an outdate version from windows live and becouse of this you can't (press enter) to play. To solve follow that guide, it has the link to update the windows live for the last version. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1904501479 and you will need a microsoft account to login too.

What NeonDrare said. Take a look at the guides section. It's not too much trouble getting around this issue. I got it working on a desktop PC and also for my Steam Deck (by disabling GFWL) using the guides.

It works for you still, even in 2024? I got past the "press enter" stage by removing GFWL & installing the latest version, but it cannot sign me in. The sign-in attempt just stalls forever. Did you do anything special here? Or can you create an offline profile somehow?

Yes, it still works on 2024. You have to be patience, in the fist time it takes a long time to login, after that it is fast and sign-in automatic (if you enable that option).
