I'm trying to play it with an Xbox Series controller but the buttons are all mapped wrong with ADS and fire mapped to the start and back buttons and there doesn't seem to be any way to change it.

I don't know in what universe this game was made but it's honestly just laughable in 2023. Every design aspect has aged poorly, so avoid it if you have anything else to play.
