Did the devs confused the Iraq flag with the flag of the German Empire?
Not sure if this has come up before t, but I've noticed that soldiers with the Iraqi Flag[en.wikipedia.org] often have non-Iraqi (i.e., Middle Eastern) features such as being of African or European race and in the case of one of my current soldiers a German name.

I have a feeling someone on the dev team confused the Iraqi flag with the WW2-era German war ensign and/or the flag of the German Empire[en.wikipedia.org] which was often used in a lot of WW2 games (BF1942 for example) in place of the Notsee flag in order to avoid censorship or controversy. They have the same or similar colors only inverted vertically.

I just have to share this with the community in case anyone else wants to be annoyed by this oversight lmao

The flag you're calling the German Empire is Egypt :steamfacepalm:, which is one of the member nations of the council you work for.

This is all the flags that are in the game by default. Good news, this means they didn't get your countries flag wrong. Because like most of the countries on the planet it wasn't there to begin with :steammocking:.

Well in fairness the Egyptian and Iraqi flag are identical in terms of their color/overall design but my point still stands: the names and soldiers that come from "Egypt" are not at all Egyptian, unlike say soldiers from other parts of the Mediterranean like Greece/Italy.

I had an "Egyptian" soldier with the surname Kaiser. So unless the fictional world of 2015 that XCOM imagines the Germans took over Egypt after WW2 I don't see how Kaiser is even remotely an Arabic name.

Edit: maybe I shouldn't say "not at all" but Egypt's soldier pool seems to be far broader in terms of names/ethnicities compared to most other countries' soldiers. It's just very weird and ideosyncratic that it made me think one of the devs got confused.
