Is there a good way to deal with counterattacking enemies? I've seen enemies take counter stance, even in a surprise round where they start the round Startled. And they do it before anyone in my team has a chance to even attack. Even worse in a round where they are not startled so they take a counter stance randomly AND do something else that round....

Yes I'm aware of the special weapons and alchemy. Yes I have the special pact and am trying to boost it with level 4 elements spells from Kamie's pact to help stave off the HP loss. Yes I've set my skills for my puppets accordingly and have tried to work around the boss. And yes I broke down and put my game on easy mode for Cecilia. Having an airheaded character is one thing, but she's a bit too over the top. I'd be okay with the way she talks and acts if she was like... 10 years old, but I just can't believe she's supposed to be a working adult. I like the game, but I'm really starting to get very annoyed with Eureka. I just got High Jump from Nachi, so... does Eureka start getting any better or mature in any way, or is she going to be this oblivious airhead the entire game?...

And why does this game have no manual

On aspe I skipped some floors because I couldn't figure out the picture puzzle. I destroyed some walls to reach floors 2 and 3. When I managed to beat the mid boss in floor 2. I encounter the guy that was in floor 1 in floor 3 or something like that. When I went back to the base no cutscene showed up for me? Can't figure out what's wrong....
