spoiler warning, end game question
So, in the beginning of the game you see "2106" written in blood. This later shows up very frequently late game written in blood all over the walls, alongside drawings of the roots and what not. Did we ever actually find out what 2106 means????

I never knew if it was just a red herring or if it had meaning. Maybe I missed some dialogue or skipped a note.

Thanks again!

You get a note right before the final boss fight that explains it. Kinda stupid you need to read it while in the boss fight though.

Also, in the Tolman's room (near the Lounge) there is his diary / journal. It says smth like "2106 is not a code for any of our locks. It is not a code at all".

wait, does that imply the guests time traveled to stop global warming??

Or some kind of chain of events leading to a similar disaster.
Whatever it is, their mission is a failure since the cause is unknown.

Or their mission is a success.

If the game is a stable time loop (Guests spread infection across the world, apocalypse happens, people in the future go through the Pool, turn into Guests, and set off the cycle again), then the possible destruction of the Pool by Crow's death might have put a stop to the cycle. Can't really know since too many things are left ambiguous or unanswered in favor of focusing on the gold laundering and Maya's identity as the main story points.
I kinda figured this was going to be what they were going to go with from the first five minutes. It just had 'that one episode of southpark' vibes. Still a fun game but... the twist wasn't very surprising for me.
FYI spoiler text doesn't actually spoiler the text of an OP when you mouse over it...

It does still tell people to not look too closely at the thread unless they don't mind spoilers.
