An absolutely phenomenal multiplayer experience. The asynchronous nature alone is a godsend for friend-groups with busy schedule, allowing everyone to participate. As someone in my thirties whose friends are all getting married and having children, it turns meetups into something that happens a couple times a year to a couple times a week.

It has its problems, for sure. It's not very well optimised, there are definitely balancing issues between the archfiends. But it's never so skewed that it's insurmountable. The fundamental nature of the game is one of limited information and a severely restrictive action economy, and there are methods in play to make it difficult (but not impossible) to truly pull ahead of the pack.

Ultimately, my friend group have been playing game after game in a continuous stream since we discovered this. We keep coming back, we keep having a blast, we keep being *able* to come back even with vastly different, busy schedules. That's really all the praise it needs.

Such good fun with friends. Love the async mode. Really hope the studio can come back to life to give this game the love it deserves.

The last board game I enjoyed was Monopoly back in 2013 and the last video game I enjoyed was Cyberpunk 2077. These are not qualifiers of quality or quantity, just mere images for your imagination of my history and interests.

I love Solium Infernum (with friends). Great artstyle and music, and writing with a crisp UI/UX and typical board game style shenanigans of scheming and strategy.

However, the negative reviews pertaining to the game's state of play/developers hibernation are accurate. So only get this game if you have specific people you want to play with also. To avoid Solo play issues and/or AI stagnation/boredom.
