I feel a sort of liveless mode should be made available, no points, and no chance of losing, just you and the words, so you can refine your skills without fear of messing up nearly as much

A small change that would double my enjoyment: leave the correct answers onscreen for a second. Especially when it comes to the last word, it disappears before I know what my mistake is.

While it seems a substantial amount of effort has been put into being permissive to differences between UK English and General American English, more work needs to be done, particularly on spelling. A number of words have different spellings, like gray/grey, numerous z/s examples like recogni(z/s)e, as well as offen(c/s)e and defen(c/s)e, and probably other variations. Additionally, while many words have multiple pronunciations given, some rather obvious ones are not, like /biɹd/ for 'beard' in General A...
